Cluj-Napoca
Cluj-Napoca municipality is located in central Transylvania, on Someşul Mic River, in the interference area between Apuseni Mountains and Someş plateau. Surrounded on three sides by hills and hillocks, it resembles a true fortress.
The most urban centre of Transylvania bears two names: Napuca (which the Romans changed to Napoca) naming the ancient Dacian fortress, and Cluj, the Latin term which was subsequently employed (comes from Clausum- the enclosed city, lying between hilltops).
Great cultural, academic and industrial centre, Cluj-Napoca prides itself with distinctive cultural and scientific contributions.
